Got a big idea brewing? A solo show that’s itching to get on its feet? A writing partner who needs just one more coffee-fueled day to crack the script? We’ve got you.
This June & July, The Vault Creation Lab is opening its doors for Creation Days; a dedicated time and space for you to play, experiment, write, devise, clown, collaborate, and create. Applications are now open!
We’re offering free access to our space for artists who want to get messy, make the thing, and start a development conversation with The Vault Creation Lab.
Whether you’re dreaming up your next masterpiece or just need a room to try things out, Creation Days are for you.
TO APPLY:
Send us a short paragraph about the idea you want to workshop and a short paragraph about who you are: info@thevaultcreationlab.ca
Deadline to apply: June 13th
Writers Reading Group
Tuesdays, July 1st - August 5th 5:15pm-7:45pm
Co-Developed with and Co-Lead by Nick Green and Andrea Scott
A group where writers gather and hear their words, out loud, read by other writers. An opportunity to hear new writing, ideas, fragments and works in progress and seek (if the playwright wishes) feedback in a supportive and playwright-lead environment.
Applicants must be available to attend all sessions.
You’ll have the opportunity to share your work in one or more of the sessions and in the others participate as a reader of other writers’ works. This course is designed for playwrights with some playwriting experience.
*The playwrights present and the identity, diversity, age and gender of the playwrights will be the voices in the room regardless of the script they are reading. Therefore we hope it’s understood that readers will be cast randomly. Upon acceptance into Writers Reading, Nick and Andrea will reach out with questions about your script and will start a conversation around casting.
We have 10 spots available for each group. Please send a short email introducing yourself and let us know a bit about your playwriting experience to: info@thevaultcreationlab.ca by June 20th.
This is a PWYC group with a suggested fee of $15 per week.
And if you’d like to participate as a listener that’s awesome too! No experience required and you’re welcome to show up and audit. Suggested PWYC auditing fee is $10 per week.
